It is ironic that Beanie Babies and Magic were introduced to the world in the same year, 1993. My kids dove headfirst into the Beanie craze. Every weekend was Beanie day, with a pit stop at the 183 and 360 corner to snag a fluffy friend from Jack amidst a bustling market of knick-knacks.
Our Beanie hunt expanded to stores, maxing out on purchases and stashing the extras in a trusty old Samsonite suitcase. When the collection outgrew two suitcases, the hubby raised an eyebrow. A clever turn of events at Highland Mall led to a sweet deal with a Beanie vendor, making a tidy profit.
Selling Beanies became our family hustle, until one day, the kiosk vanished into thin air. Determined to keep the Beanie dream alive, I approached Jack for permission to set up shop during the week. Together, we vowed to make that corner the Beanie capital of the world!
